If you were to try to claim anything you would have to take out a loan from the Social, if for some unfortunate reason you became unemployed. MPs are allowed to claim up to £10,000 for a new kitchen, more than £6,000 for a bathroom and £750 for a television on their parliamentary allowances, it was disclosed today.

They can also claim reimbursement from the taxpayer for stereos worth up to £750, £300 air-conditioning units and £2,000 for a furniture suite for their second homes.

The figures came as the Commons released the so-called "John Lewis list" that finance officials use to approve or reject MPs' expenses claims.

It is a list of precedents for spending on household items under the parliamentary second-homes allowance, based on prices at the John Lewis department store.

The document, released to the Press Association news agency under the Freedom of Information Act, was not even known to most MPs until recently.

Andrew Walker, the Commons' director general of resources, has previously declined to release the document for fear that MPs would take advantage if they knew how much they could claim for certain items.

"My concern would be that if we say what the maximum price we will allow for such an item is, it will become the going rate," he told a recent Information Tribunal hearing.

Under the Freedom of Information Act, passed by MPs in 2000, the Commons had until Monday to respond to the Press Association's request for sight of the document.

But, while acknowledging on Monday that it would release the information, it did not do so until this afternoon, as most MPs are returning to their constituencies for the weekend.

The figures were released a day after the members estimate committee announced that MPs would in the future have to provide receipts for all expenses claims above £25 from April 1.

Previously MPs were able to claim up to £250 without receipts.

The committee also said that the level of petty cash available for office expenses would be reduced from £250 to £50.

Wall of silence over dump Friday, 25 January 2008

A WALL of silence this week surrounded the stalled Derwent Forest project as it was revealed that talks have taken place over possible opencast coal mining on part of the site.

International mining and construction group Keir has bought the coal rights to the 1,200-acre Derwent Forest site near Broughton Moor.

Kier, based in Sandy, Bedfordshire, is understood to have started talks with the potential new council owners of the Ministry of Defence site, formerly a Royal Naval Armaments Depot and still known locally as ‘The Dump’.

The purchase of mining rights does not mean that the go ahead for coal mining has been given. Planning consent and owner consent would still be required.

A four-year extraction plan for the northern section of the land, close to Broughton Moor village, is on the agenda.

1 It may include a clearance and de-contamination programme for the whole site, on which 110 World War II buildings still stand.

It should/will include ,as asbestos is present in & on buildings, this can be backed up with evidence from Allerdales own web site.

Kier declined to comment. A spokesman said: “We feel it would be inappropriate to speculate further how the longer term aspirations for the site may best be achieved.”

But John Ardron, Labour councillor for Broughton St Bridget’s, said: “I can confirm for certain that Kier Group have opened talks.

2 “But I for one would not contemplate any coal extraction scheme unless there was a ‘planning gain’ for the community, like the £18 million Tesco has promised for sports facilities in Workington , and unless the local community said ‘yes’.

What like no one objected to Tesco? I was at the meeting to discuss this in the Theatre can only say that no matter what was said it was already decided.

“The real problem now is that the council administration is keeping us all in the dark.”
It is believed that Kier’s proposals could mean that all the coal, estimated at probably three million tonnes, could be removed by a dust-secure covered conveyor belt that would extend to a coastal railhead.

At the end of any contract, the land would be restored to ‘greenfield’ status.
Communities on the edge of The Dump have in the past firmly rejected coal extraction, but Broughton parish council chairman Keith Sproat said it should be considered again especially if it meant 150 local jobs.

3 Mr Sproat said: “We’ve waited 18 years for something to happen on The Dump.
“We’re all asking questions and nobody is giving us any answers, so if it’s got to be coal, let’s go for it. “Coal is a very valuable commodity again.”

He's Parish Council Chairman for Broughton & will not even discuss it till a decision is made by which time if it is Open cast then planning permission will no doubt have been decided, well we'll see.

Coal mining would not necessarily conflict with the long-term aim of simultaneously developing the massive site for a range of leisure and tourist-related activities. ???

The Ministry of Defence has already set four deadlines for Allerdale council and Cumbria County Council to buy the land from it for a nominal £1. The latest deadline is March 31 this year, which was confirmed by Allerdale council on Tuesday.

The North West Development Agency has promised up to £9 million to develop the site. A NWDA spokesman said this week ownership was holding up the land transfer.

He added: “There are a number of commercially sensitive discussions taking place with a variety of parties.

“We are not in a position to divulge further information but the agency and its partners, Allerdale Borough Council, Cumbria County Council and Cumbria Vision, are continuing to work on this project. There have been some issues on legal title and work is ongoing to resolve these issues.”

4 Allerdale council refused to add to the statement.

Allerdale Developemant Council bulldoze Public again

At a meeting held this afternoon at the Carnegie Theatre Workington, the developement council voted 11 to 6 in favour of the new Tesco megastore. This was against public opinion as voiced by at least 15/20 people at the meeting, ranging from personal to representation & Save the Cloffocks campaign. Also in attendence were the local TV & Press. There is an ongoing dispute about who owns the land, checkout below.

Although it has 80,000 trainees in 36 cities, 30,000 graduate members and enormous power, Common Purpose (CP) is largely unknown to the general public.

It recruits and trains its leaders to work "beyond authority," to abuse their posts and serve Common Purpose, instead of their own departments, which they then undermine. Its members control the NHS, where it wastes £60 billion, much of it going into private pockets; and controls most of Britains 8,500 quangos which spend £167 billion annually, according to the Cabinet Office. Most of that is waste.

Business rates and tax go up, services go down, the difference is spent on yet more CP quangos.
CP is identifying leaders in all levels of our government to assume power when our nation is replaced by the European Union, in what they call “the post democratic era.” They are learning to rule without democracy, and will bring the EU police state home to every one of us.

Common Purpose is a criminal organisation that enables fraud to be committed across these
government departments to reward pro European local politicians. Corrupt deals are enabled that put property or cash into their pockets by embezzling public assets.

It has members in the NHS, BBC, the police, the legal profession, the church, many of Britain’s 8,500 quangos, local councils, schools, social services, the Civil Service, government ministries, Parliament, and it controls many RDA's (Regional Development Agencies).

Cressida Dick is the Common Purpose senior police officer who authorised the "Shoot to kill" policy without reference to Parliament, the law or the British Constitution. Jean de Menezes was one of the innocents who died as a result. Her shoot to kill policy still stands today.

Surprising numbers of lawyers are CP members. It is no coincidence that justice is more expensive, more flawed and more corrupt. Lawyers in secret family courts routinely commit perjury to pervert the course of justice, knowing CP judges will protect them; a fair trial is now rare. When a challenge was made to the signing of the five EU treaties, which illegally abolish Britain's sovereignty, it was no surprise the courts refused to uphold the law.

Common Purpose was backed by John Prescott's Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM), and its Chief Executive is Julia Middleton. The Head of the Civil Service Commission is a member.

It is close to controlling Plymouth City Council, where is has subverted the democratic process. Local people cannot get CP's corrupt activities published, because the editors of local papers are in CP, and refuse to let journalists publish the articles.

The power of councillors is being usurped nationally by council executives, as CP substitutes “expert officers” and swamps councillors with paperwork and directives. The ODPM’s councillor monitoring officers can remove councillors who don’t comply, or try to stand up for democracy.􀀁

CP was formed in 1970 by Ted Heath's Conservative Party as part of joining the European Union Dictatorship. In the 1990’s, with its members' cross departmental influence, it was involved with what then became the disastrous New Millennium Dome Company and the squandering of £800 million; it appears £300m of this was diverted into the web of quangos set up by CP. There is a fraud case over this, stalled in the courts thanks to CP's influence in the legal profession.

Over £100 million of our money has been spent on CP courses alone, and its been hidden from the public. No published accounts, and members names are a guarded secret. It charges substantial figures for its courses. Matrix for example costs £3,950 plus VAT, and courses for the high flying ‘leader’ can be as much as £9,950 plus VAT. This money is ours, paid by government departments financing senior staff to become agents for CP, instead of loyal to their own jobs.

Common Purpose International (Ltd by guarantee No. 2832875) is registered as an educational charity, No 1023384. Given it targets the powerful with expensive fees, its charity status stinks and should be revoked.􀀁

Potential Common Purpose subjects are selected for training. Are they susceptible to being converted; are they in the right job, with the right colleagues and friends? Do they have power, influence and the control of money? The local Common Purpose Advisory Board then decides if they can do the course.

While on the courses candidates are assessed; are they corruptable; will they abuse their positions, commit fraud and lie for Common Purpose? If so they are selected for the inner sanctum; but half are not, and can honestly say they've seen nothing wrong􀀁

Trained leaders are encouraged to act as a network, enable other members' plans, and have meetings under the so called Chatham House rules. This effectively means their statements are not attributable to them, nor can attendees reveal information heard at a Common Purpose meeting.

Council Officers are having secret meetings with, for example, property developer Common Purpose friends. No agendas and no minutes. Common Purpose Graduates from the public quango sectors such as the Regional Development Agencies attend, and award large sums of public money to these projects.

It is the worst national example of cronyism, closed contract bids, fraud and corruption. And unseen to the general public.

Common Purpose undermines traditionally effective and efficient government departments with an overwhelming influx of new language, political correctness and management initiatives. The talk is of change, empowering communities, vision, worklessness, mainstreaming (sucking EU money into a project to sustain it), community empowerment, working partnership, regeneration and celebrating diversity etc etc. Documents appear about change, and reorganisation.

As CP “leaders” become more senior they employ countless managers and bureaucrats. In time
confusion rules, and things don’t seem to work properly. Management decisions are made that seem stupidly destructive. The organisation’s performance becomes sluggish. Undermining the NHS is Common Purpose’s biggest success so far, with bureaucrats outnumbering hospital staff three to one.

David Cameron, who is an EU plant, uses the language and techniques of Common Purpose against the Conservative Party. By changing, with nothing to change to, he is paralyzing the Conservative party.

Common Purpose specifically targets children from the age of 13, and more recently age 4, for sex or leadership and citizenship training. Yes, it is active in schools, and again the average parent has no idea.

People have contacted us to speak of their experiences with Common Purpose. A common theme is its all sweetness and light, until you fail to follow the direction set by the CP leadership. Then interesting things happen. Ladies in particular have been bullied at work, some have lost their jobs, some have become paranoid and depressed at the pressure from people ganging up on them.

A typical story is a husband describing the decline in his wife from the time she becomes a Common Purpose graduate. Loss of sparkle, enthusiasm, anxious and ‘changed’, and she initiated a divorce.

Other Common Purpose people lie when they are challenged as to their involvement.

Common Purpose candidates are given a two day residential course in which they are ‘trained’ in a closed residential environment, such as a small hotel. They are encouraged to reveal personal information about themselves, such as their likes, dislikes, ambitions and dreams.

Discussions are then controlled by the course leaders. Some participants have likened this to Delphi technique, NLP, or the application of group psychology such as Cognitive Dissonance or brainwashing.

If you suspect Common Purpose is active in your organisation, or see a pattern of incredibly bad
decisions, money being wasted, notice bullying, fraud, or threats, note the names of those involved. And publish the truth about Common Purpose as widely as you can.

And unless you kindly visit them and tell them, they may have no idea. The European Regionalisation Plan will sweep away all Britain’s 48 counties and replace them with nine EU Regions reporting directly to Brussels, bypassing Westminster.

Devon and Cornwall will be abolished, and replaced with an EU Region stretching from Lands End to Cheltenham and Poole. Exeter already boasts on its "Welcome" road signs that it’s the
Regional Capital. Hundreds of thousands of civil servants are already in the Regional structure, and the police are being forced in at a cost of £600 million. (They conceal these are EU Regions.)
The plan is your address will change from 10High Street, Plymouth Devon, England, to 100 High Street, Plymouth, Area K, European Union.

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) is in charge of the handover of power to the EU, and inside that David Milliband, Minister of Communites, was responsible at the local government and quango levels (now Ruth Kelly). The handover is already well underway in Devon, with the unelected South West Regional Assembly (SWRA) established on the 2nd July 1998 in Exeter. It has 117 seats.

A few councillors who toe the EU line, or have been on Common Purpose courses, may get coopted on. But all the existing seats in Town councils, District and County councils will be
abolished, unless our councillors have the courage of their convictions and stop it.

But each council’s convictions are being sapped by an ODPM "Monitoring Officer."
If a councillor has opinions that don’t toe the ODPM line, he is reported to the
"Standards Board for England," who suspends him for up to five years under the Local Government Act 2000.

EU organisations like the ODPM and Common Purpose are sidelining councillors by swamping them with paperwork, "partnerships" and initiatives, handing the power to the unelected executive, and local democracy is breaking down. That's why you've no control over your council tax - councillors are becoming powerless.

All this became inevitable when the Queen signed Ted Heath’s 1972 EU Treaty of Accession.

The Queen has signed six EU treaties: when she signs the seventh and final EU treaty, perhaps in the next three years, our counties will go. We will then be in the EU’s "Post democratic era," and unable to stop it.

There are 19,579 Councillors nationwide and we need to alert them town by town. Please visit yours and ask them to remember their duty is to their own local electorate, not to a national government attempting to abolish them illegally.

They should throw their Monitoring Officer out of council meetings, and set up a full ballot of their electorate, and ask the voters the question:

"Do you wish your county and councillors to be abolished in favour of a European South West Region, and an unelected assembly?"

1. The leaderships of the Conservative, Labour and Lib Dem parties have been taken over by pro-Europeans. These leaderships implement the EU's policy, and ignore the wishes of their voters. That's why your vote doesn't make a difference.

2. The European Union has the Constitution of a dictatorship, and the laws of a police state. Dictatorships lead to oppression and poverty. The EU Constitution is similar to the old Soviet Union's.

3. Once the Queen has signed the sixth and final EU Treaty in June next year, the very much alive EU Constitution makes it clear the EU will completely abolish the nations of Britain and England (and our Lib, Lab and Con parties, clause I-46-4).

4. The EU is illegal under British law. Four Prime Ministers and the Queen have committed five acts of Treason by signing five EU treaties which will abolish our nation and replace it with the EU; they had to repeal the laws of Treason in the 1998 Crime and Disorder Act (s36.3) to escape prosecution.

5. The police state growing around you, and reported on by some national newspapers, is the EU police state. We've been in the EU for 34 years, we are harmonising our laws with the EU, the emerging police state is the result.

6. Political correctness, the undermining of parents, the family and teachers, the teaching of sex and homosexuality to under tens, the promotion of single parent families etc. is subversion by the EU or its Common Purpose organisation over the last 34 years, using the plans of the German Frankfurt School.

7. The EU will be an economic disaster. We now lose £30 billion a year trading with Europe; before we joined we broke even. The EU's 111,000 regulations cost us £100 billion a year (Better Regulation Commission Annual Report 2005); they will bring us a soviet style command economy and poverty. Our politicians lied to us.

8. If you have voted Conservative, Labour or Lib Dem over the last 34 years you have voted for the EU police state, and for the abolition of your own party.

9. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has made our government agree to sign the final “Reform Treaty;” which will enforce the EU Constitution from 1st January 2009. The EU constitution makes no allowance for a British General Election, which isn't due until 5th May 2010, so it is unlikely another will be permitted. You will by then be imprisoned inside the EU police state, where you will be ruled by unelected EU dictators, who will control the nuclear weapons of what used to be Britain and France.

10. Britain is the fifth largest economy amongst the world's 200 nations. Forget elections and parties, whose leaderships are controlled by the EU. Fight the direct anti EU campaigns on eutruth to get Britain back before its too late. Start by visiting your MP in his local surgery and warn him he will lose his £240,000 salary and expenses when the EU closes Westminster on 5th May 2010.

The Abolition of Britain's 48 counties.
England's 48 counties are being abolished and replaced with 9 European Regions under the European Regionalisation Plan. We became committed when the Queen signed, without our consent, the 1972 European Communities Act. The Queen's signing of Maastricht and the Amsterdam Treaty have speeded up the process.

England's 20,000 town, district and county Councillors will also be abolished. There is no democratic process here; it is being done illegally, but central government does not expect councillors to stand up for their rights, or ours.

To give two examples, the county of Cornwall will be abolished and replaced by a European Region who's boundaries stretch from Land's End to include the former counties of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. The Regional Capital is Exeter, as that city proclaims on its road signs.

The South Eastern Region includes Hampshire to Kent; it's Regional Capital is Calais. The 9 Regional Capitals report directly to the 25 unelected EU Commissioners in Brussels, not to Westminster, which will very effectively eliminate the nation of England.

EU treaties & publications abolishing our 48 Counties.
1971 The European Commission produced the map of England broken up into 9 regions.
1973 EU "Common Regional Policy" was established.
1987 Single European Act expanded Regional Policy
1992 Regionalisation was introduced in Article 198 of the Maastricht treaty, which re-stated much of the 1957 Treaty of Rome. Its 130 unreadable pages cross refer to other treaties and documents by Article number, so without reading four thousand pages at once, an impossible task, it conceals its true intent and should never have been signed. Article 198 set up the Committees of the regions, which means 444 extra UK representatives to pay for in Europe, plus their staff, travel and other expenses. 1997 Amsterdam Treaty (Articles 263-5) adopts European Regionalisation.

Over a thousand government departments and quangos now use the Euro-Region structure, instead of counties; all new departments do automatically, as do EU constituencies for the powerless European Parliament.

2002 April John Prescott announced the plans to abolish the counties in Parliament to the horror of his back benchers, who wanted it kept quiet.

2003 3rd Dec. Minister of State for Local Government and the Regions Nicholas Raynsford said in a Commons answer: “It is now quite clear that County and District/Borough Councils will be replaced with Unitary Authorities and Regions.”

And now, at a cost of £600 million, the Police are being forced out of the counties into the 9
Regions, but did you notice no one called it the EU Regions? The EU works by stealth.
But the government and Mr Raynsford attempt to conceal what is happening and even deny they are abolishing the counties. The truth is, with hundreds of thousands of bureaucrats already in the EU Regional structure, the government is lying again.

If you read them (our MP's didn't), the six EU treaties the Queen has signed over the last 33 years define and build an unelected dictatorship that replaces our nation. EU laws the Queen has signed give it the powers of a police state. For 33 years we have been denied the fundamental right to vote against the EU to stop the abolition of our own nation. Please go and see your councillors with this document and show them what's happening. Tell whoever you can.

Just been on to the press as a small group in Cockermouth I was informed wish for Debbie & myself to sign this declaration as well as other councillors or their not going to vote for anyone who hasn't signed it.

This according to the press is their Holy Grail, well fine but surely this as been made null & void by the European Human Rights act.

What has this to do with Parish Council politics? as we all have to sign a code of conduct & make any party affiliations as part of this. National issues/Politics do not or should not come into in any way shape or form to Parish matters.

If they want to have a HG why not the Magna Carta?

1 Members of the Carlisle branch of the British National Party have been upset by reports of their involvement in a disturbance in Carlisle earlier this year following one of their meetings.
The misunderstanding came out of a reference in court this week, which was made in error, when it should have referred to a meeting held in Carlisle by the National Front. CFM understands the defence barrister involved has apologised to the court for the mistake.
There's was no implication that any of their members were involved in the disturbance.

2 A man has been found guilty of a sexual assault on a 91-year-old woman patient at a Carlisle care home.

53 year old Bulgarian Neyko Neykov of Ruthella Street in the city carried out the assault on the woman at the Blackwell Vale nursing home where he worked as a cleaner. He was remanded in custody for a month for background reports.

The judge told him he would inevitably be sent to prison for such a serious offence, and he could also be deported.

Co Option to Council

Co-Option Procedures at a Council meetingOnly Parish/Town Councillors present at the meeting may nominate, second or vote upon a person to fill the vacancy. At this meeting, members should be informed of the names and addresses of anyone wishing to be considered as a Councillor. Councillors present at the meeting must then decide if they wish to nominate any of the persons named at the meeting or any other persons known to them. A Councillor does not have to nominate any of the persons named. Any Councillor may nominate someone for the vacancy, provided the nomination is seconded, that name may be voted upon.

Voting for the new councillor is by show of hands unless the Council has adopted Standing Orders which allow any other form of voting in Council. If there is only one vacancy, a Councillor may only nominate or second one candidate. The chairman should place the names of those properly nominated into alphabetical order and take a vote. Councillors have only one vote each. The first candidate to receive an absolute majority of those present and voting is declared elected. Should no single candidate receive a majority on the first vote, the person with the lowest number of votes is eliminated, voting takes place on the remainder, one vote per councillor.

This continues until one person receives an absolute majority.

If there is more than one vacancy, a Councillor may nominate one person for each seat. Each Councillor has one vote per seat, i.e. two votes or three votes according to the number of vacancies.

The successful candidate is then declared co-opted to the Council and summoned to attend the next Council Meeting where he/she will sign the Declaration of Acceptance of Office to agree to be bound by the Code of Local Government Conduct.

Just got back from Blackpool where a great 3 days was had at the BNP Conference.

Lots of instruction on the Saturday & the Conference itself on the Sunday. Arrived Friday midday so decided to attend the meal at night. This was my first conference but it will definately not be my last.

Lots of great speeches & debate on sunday & Nick's closing one was one of the best I have heard from him. Lots of decisions where made by democratic ballot not just imposed from the powers that be, but thats something this government knows nothing about as they just dictate to us all what we can or can not do.

But you do have a choice, if your fed up with been treated as a second class citizen in your own country the first chance you get vote BNP.

Dont believe what the media says see for yourselves at your local meetings.

I was at the parish council meeting & for your information there were 4 vaccancies with 6/7 people asked to attend but only 3 plus myself bothered to turn up, so as in through the back door i dont think so, as if the others had bothered to turn up it would have gone to a vote.

If you had been at that meeting you would have seen for yourself that it was all open & above board
